Help needed this weekend

This Saturday and Sunday July 31st and August 1st, Elisa will be going through each and every one of her belongings that wasn't destroyed in the fire to catalog them for the insurance company.  It will be a messy job but needs to get done a.s.a.p.  If you have even just two hours to spare this weekend please come and help out.  Right now this is the biggest thing Elisa and Rio need.  The more people we have there the faster it will go.  Mornings and evenings might be the best time so that no one is working in the highest heat of the day.  If you could post in the comments which day and what times you'd like to help out that would be great.  I just noticed that August 1st is friendship day, how coincidental is that?

Elisa's sister is flying in to Charlotte to be with her sister and nephew this Friday at 1:20 p.m.  If there is anyone that might be in that area of the state at that time or could possibly pick her up at the airport and bring her to Asheville please let Elisa know.  She'd be leaving Asheville on Monday August 2nd at around 3 p.m. and would also need a ride back to Charlotte.

If we all do just one thing to help them through this devastating time added up it would be a lot.  These are some things and ways in which we can help.  All you can do is put your needs out into the Universe and see what comes back.

Thank you All.

  4. And so everyone knows, the house is now 95% empty of the belongings that need to be inventoried. The Latinas and Latinos who have been doing the brunt of the work set an inspiring example for all of us.
Under brutally hot and difficult conditions, they have worked incredibly hard, and treated Elisa's, Rio's, and David's belongings as if they were the most precious objects belonging to their own mother. It's hard not to weep when you see strangers pitch in with that degree of care, kindness, and attention for someone that don't even know. Who would not want to be around that?

  9. To Christopher,
address is 240 Sugar Creek Road. Take I 26; 19-23 north from A-ville to exit 15 { 2 exits past weaverville}; go right at end of exit for about 3.5 miles, Sugar Creek rd. is on the right { just before a bridge and a store]. Go 1 mile to Sugar hill rd. on the left. Turn and make immediate right into driveway or park in the road.
